Specifically, IT application in medical examination and treatment has been promoted, most hospitals have implemented hospital information systems. Some hospitals in Hanoi, Da Nang, and Ho Chi Minh City have used social networks to interact with patients; developed electronic medical applications for patients; applied Cloud Computing in hospitals at Nghe An, Tien Giang, Kon Tum...
Also in recent years, the Ministry of Health has cooperated with Vietnam Social Insurance to successfully implement the connection between medical examination and treatment facilities nationwide and the Social Insurance agency. So far, 99.5% of medical facilities across the country have been connected to the inspection system of Vietnam Social Insurance.
Regarding the construction of remote medical examination and treatment consultancy system and connecting everything in healthcare industry, the Ministry of Health has planned to build the Telemedicine project to hospitals under the Satellite Hospital Project. The project is about connecting electronics and transfer data to the system; connecting HIS-LIS-RIS, PACS-EMR, identifying patients through barcodes, sensors, RFID.
In particular, the healthcare industry is applying four outstanding robotic systems, such as Da vinci laparoscopic robots, Renaissance spine surgery robots, Makoplasty knee and hip surgery robots, and Rosa neurosurgical robots.
Regarding the application of AI, the healthcare industry has piloted the application of "Computational Computing" to support cancer treatment in some hospitals. Specifically K Hospital in 2017, Phu Tho general hospital and Quang Ninh general hospital in 2018 have applied the technology to support clinical decision-making in hospital information systems, as well as providing warning of hospital drug interactions; consulting support system - ChatBot; speech recognition to enter data into the hospital information system.
Along with that, Ministry of Health is building a national health data center, and investing in server room infrastructure of Tier2 or higher standards; forming integrated axes for national scale information systems; completing the online public service system; putting into operation the electronic health statistics system and electronic health records of the entire population ...
