Automotive software industry is the industry in which software is used to control function and enhance performance of the device. Technology advancement is reported to help the global automotive market see robust growth from 2020 to 2026. Vietnam’s automotive software industry development will be in line with the global one.

With sales of light vehicles growing from about 95 million to over 106 million, Vietnam Automotive is expected to experience strong growth between 2019 and 2025. Vietnam automotive market outlook report carried out in 2019 states that the country is among top 5 Asia nations in terms of fast growing automotive industry.

This is resulted from that up to now, the country has taken good advantages of its self-resources, coming from abundant labor supply, R&D activities to geographic benefit and government assistance.

As for authority support, Vietnam government has made it clear that automotive sector will be one of the country’s main source of revenue, as well as promotes the flow of FDIs in the automotive industry. Also, the government has prioritized to attract more FDIs flow into domestic automotive industry. Foreign manufacturers plan to expand their production based in Vietnam.

Meanwhile, Vietnam automotive software companies, as the ones at the national front, plays important role in making the country become one of the region's most promising and fast-growing markets for automobiles. As for now, domestic technology companies has continuously adapted trends to improve their performance and services.

The field’s trends in this year continue to focus on platform-based services, improved products for electrification, and introducing automation at almost every level. Innovative technology is required in this next phase of automotive software industry development. Vietnam automotive software companies take innovation as an important key, as they know without enough cutting-edge solutions, this can restrict automotive market growth in the foreseeable future.

5G - A great leap forward from previous telecom generations

Telecom networks has undergone a long journey with much changes, and now human is about to witness its peak with its fifth generation – 5G.
Source: Lifewire
The first generation of telecom networks, which was introduced in 1980s, was still the analog standard. A decade after, 2G was developed, marking the beginning of digital cellular age. 3G then founded with much better speed compared to its ancestors (reached speeds from 200 kbps to several megabits per second). The development from 3G to 4G was considered technology’s huge breakthrough, as the latter enhance telecommunication speed to hundreds of megabits, even reach gigabits. Nevertheless, this has yet been a peak in telecom network development. Since founded, 5G was beyond comparison, as it excelled in all terms, from speed to capacity, compared to the previous generations.

5G, with its speed up to 100 gigabits per second can be a hundred times faster than the current 4G. This results in 5G solving many issues remained in 4G. For instance, 4G helps people in real-time communication, but in such field that needs absolute accuracy like medical, 4G application is likely to be risky, severely, lives-related risks. Hence, 5G with its faster data transmit and lower latency, disruption is an adequate solution for the existing problems. Distant surgery, which is considered impossible not long ago, thanks to 5G, now is having chances to be applied in reality. The fifth generation of telecom network has the ability to simultaneously connect a much larger number of devices, therefore enhancing IoT technology. Besides, the technology is likely to turn smartphone industry over a new leaf. 5G makes it possible to provide faster mobile browsing, calls as well as video calls in higher speed while still maintain their resolution quality.

We have seen a great leap forward from 4G to 5G. 5G is, undoubtedly, a breakthrough in the current stage of development. This, however, suggests the question that how people can make use of all of 5G potential. Without enough exploitation, investment as well as effort, people cannot ensure that whether 5G development is on the right track.

Applying 5G in Healthcare: Promises and challenges

5G brings huge opportunity to renovate the healthcare industry.
Source: Telit
The fifth generation of telecommunication holds promise to transform many world’s industries. Among them, healthcare is reported to experience the biggest changes. 5G development can change this industry at large, from improving existing devices to carrying out new services.

In detail, 5G betters imaging tools such as X-rays and MRIs, helping these devices operate wirelessly. Also, it can be a great helping hand in complex medical scenarios training by enabling augmented and virtual reality tools. However, the application of 5G in healthcare given the most attention right now is remote surgery.

Actually, remote surgery is not a completely new definition. The term has long been introduced, nonetheless, is considered to be impossible as even a small error in data transmission or little lagging in connection can cause risks related to lives. Now, with the development of 5G, which provides connection 10 to 100 times faster than a typical 4G connection, remote surgery has potential to be applied into reality.

With remote surgery, patients from rural and resource-limited areas are given chances to access to modern and high-quality healthcare services. 5G helps eliminate the distance, hence minimize the travel fee and provide emergent services at any times. Also, it would become an effective assistance to the government in tackling urbanization, as people from remoted areas can receive high-quality treatment despite living far away from the hospitals. In other words, thanks to 5G, geographical barriers will be removed, giving people equal opportunities to be treated by experts wherever they reside.

5G holds bright future for healthcare, but challenges as well as questions remain. In order to put remote surgery into reality, it demands 5G coverage to be available in both places where the surgeon and the patient is. The challenges include all hospitals being armed with 5G technology and upgraded devices to make sure that every information in remote surgery could be transmitted in real-time. The above mentioned questions, of course, cannot be solved in just 1 or 2 days. They demand both time and effort from not only the government, but also healthcare experts and 5G engineers in their relative fields.

In short, the arrival of 5G is expected to renovate the whole healthcare industry by improving speed while reducing latency. It brings remote surgery, considered unthinkable before, closer to the reality. Even though many issues remain to be solved, 5G shows promise for a modern, innovative healthcare industry in the future.

Fast development of Artificial Intelligence in Vietnam

In Vietnam, Artificial Intelligence is growing speedily and continuously confirming that it is a turning point of technology in the 4.0 Generation. High-tech development has established AI tactics to use AI for pushing economic growth.
In recent years, more and more organizations have applied AI in different areas such as education, healthcare, telecommunications… AI has been not only the lead in the market but also made massive revenue.
Presently, AI has been received the most attention in the world. Several nations have invested billions of US dollars in AI expansion plans with the desire to be the winner on AI racing track.
With AI trend, Vietnam is not the exception. Over the last few years, Vietnam’s AI industry has many incredible developments with AI in a wide range of works.
Big local technology companies really enjoy spending money on AI, developing AI as well as deploying AI strategies. Furthermore, Inland corporations in addition to inventive star-ups implement AI in lots of products in latest commerce plans.
Otherwise, as other nations, Vietnam also faces the lack of big databases, resources, infrastructure…
External technology enterprises and top AI corporations in the world have launched offices in Vietnam to exploit well-qualified workforce to server for their markets.
Foreign countries’ invitations have drawn significant attentions of Vietnamese young labor force in AI industry. While the preparation for these people in the AI field is still inadequate as well as not having enough well-trained instructors. Hence, Vietnam need to have appropriate plans in developing AI workforce.
Especially, Vietnam has many people who are doing AI research overseas together with outstanding AI specialists in technologically advanced nations. As a result, it is essential to associate with them and boost their awareness to devote to Vietnam.
At the recent onshore and offshore AI meetings, Vietnam has been said to have a weaker beginning compared to other nations. If Vietnam sticks to AI development strategies as technologically advanced nations, it will be hard to catch up with them.
AI enterprises has selected to pay attention on dealing with minor and particular problems in daily life. However, they have not still had mutual agreements in shaping a shared platform and data sources on technologies for the AI environment.
Hence, it is important for Vietnam to follow its path for the AI development strategies. Vietnam should have special rules to develop engineers in the high-tech field. In addition, Vietnam needs to associate with AI communities, which have shaped freely, to increase the delivery of data, research, and applications to making a stronger AI platform.

Security Strategies: Preventing Mobile Payment Frauds

Nielsen, an American information and measurement company, reports that 89 percent of the consumer’s time spent on mobile device is spent interacting with the applications while the mobile web makes it only to 11 percent. The ease of accessing, faster shipping, and user-friendly operation of websites and applications have taken the e-commerce industry to a whole new level. Today, consumers are more comfortable with online shopping than visiting an actual retail store. Most of the e-commerce websites and other payments methods are now shifted to online payments because of the easy payment processing and attractive offers. But on the other hand, hackers are taking this an opportunity to steal the consumer’s money by hacking sites.
The actual Mobile Payments and Fraud Survey (MPFS) predicted that famous payments processing companies such as Apple Pay lost their user from 48 to 35 percent and Google Pay lost their consumers down from 38 to 25 percent making it as a most decremented wallet as compared to other mobile wallets.
Mobile and online thefts include identity theft, loyal fraud. In identity theft, the hackers intercept sensitive data that is not safely protected, and they make use of this information to make online purchases. Loyalty theft is a way where fraudsters interrupt accounts of loyalty programs or members and transfer the money to their accounts. Friendly fraud is an unintentional error when consumers cancel approved orders and are expecting a refund. The friendly fraud sometimes becomes intentional when fraudsters receive the order and still claim that they didn’t receive order and claim for a refund. To prevent such theft and secure their money, merchants and consumers should use multi-factor authentication, implement PCI DSS Level 1 security standards on payment cards, and should have a clear understanding about the type of website while placing the orders like m-commerce or e-commerce. Even though the result of both is the same, there are different ways hackers can attack; it is enterprise’s responsibility to give importance to the channel and make use of necessary tools to prevent frauds from hacking their sites.

Go developers say go go go on v1.12 tester

A first release candidate for v1.12 of the Go programming language is now available for final pre-release testing.

The release comes without any changes to the actual language specification, but improvements to the toolchain, runtime, and libraries. For example in the compiler toolchain there are now more functions eligible for inlining by default and the compiler accepts a flag setting the language version to use.

Stack frame pointers on Linux/ARM64 are maintained so that profiling tools like perf have more to work with. Those not interested in this sort of thing should consider setting GOEXPERIMENT to noframepointer when running make.bash to build their toolchain, since the pointer also introduces a small overhead.

A helpful addition to the trace tool is the now included plotting function for mutator utilisation, which can be used to learn more about the garbage collector’s impact. Improvements to argument printing and variable location information in the DWARF debug information should support any bug hunting endeavours.

Once updated, the Go runtime will amongst other things provide less allocation latency after garbage collection, offer more accurate memory profiles and free memory for the operating system faster. Changes in the core libraries are mainly confined to cryptography, since v1.12 will be the first version with optional support of TLS 1.3.

Go was initially developed at Google and is known as a central building block of the container ecosystem. Docker, Kubernetes, and Prometheus are just a few prominent examples of projects implemented in the language. It can also be found in infrastructural components at companies such as Netflix, Dropbox and Twitch, often replacing Python.

Version 1.12 is not only the last version to be supported on FreeBSD 10.x, but also the last to not follow the proposal evaluation process introduced in late 2018 to account for the large number of high-profile projects using Go.

To not split the ecosystem and keep the language moving, the Go team will, starting with v1.13, identify a small number of language proposals, announce those, and collect feedback.

Afterwards the changes will be implemented, giving users another chance to voice concerns in the process. Ahead of the repository freeze that goes along with a release, the team will decide if the changes make for a valuable addition and either ship or rework/discard them. Slight adjustments to the process are still likely, since it is in an early testing stage.
