In the 4.0 era, DS is the science of data management and analysis to find appropriate insights and actions. In the period of digital transformation, DS has increasingly played an important role in all areas of life. Through the processes of analyzing and discovering knowledge from data, data science assists organizations and businesses in making effective decisions.
In Vietnam, the IT industry is also witnessing the potential growth of DS. More and more businesses are more interested in DS and are willing to pour money for research and development. Large Vietnam IT corporations have also invested more in data science.
A report published by the mentioned human resource consulting company also announced recruitment needs and the number of applications in the field of data technology increased sharply. Accordingly, DS saw a 121% increase in job vacancies and a sudden increase of 137% in the first half of the year compared to 2017. The salary for the position of Data Scientist was $ 1,652.
Despite the growing thirst for personnel, Vietnam job market currently lacks human resources for data mining, AI and Big Data. There is also a thirst for serious and methodical training programs on DS to meet market demand. Facing this fact, many universities in Vietnam are developing DS training programs, with the goal of providing more manpower to catch up with the great opportunities in this period. For example, a Vietnam IT online training school just launched its DS course in early August; after 30 weeks of online learning, students would have a basic knowledge and understanding of DS and Application.
